These were the starter dishes. I’ve never had a salad with corn, eggs, tuna, and all types of other stuff jumbled together but it was actually pretty good!
Couscous is a famous North African dish that I got to have a lot of that weekend. Its basically like little pieces of rice, mixed with vegetables, chicken, olives, and almonds. It tasted okay, it was kind of dry, nothing a little soy sauce can’t fix!
I’ve noticed that being overseas it seems like a lot of places like to mix their foods together. In America I’m use to having a space for my chicken, a space for my salad, and a space for my french fries. Well here they’ll just put it all mixed together onto one plate. This dish was chicken, olives, and french fries.
For majority of our meals in Africa, we didn’t get a “real” dessert. What they see as dessert is a plate of fruit! Scary huh? Well I guess thats why people in these different countries are on average a lot smaller then many Americans. For our last meal we got one cookie each.
I also got to go to a popular bakery in the city and got to try some fresh Moroccan bread with the owner!
